ADVANCED TEEN MUSICIANSHIP PROGRAMMYP Teen A Cappella Ensemble & Instrumental Internship Program
A Cappella Ensemble
High School singers are invited to audition for the Marin Youth Performers A Cappella Ensemble under the leadership of Jessica Nicholson. This group is an advanced chamber ensemble for singers in 9th-12th grade. This ensemble of 15 -20 singers will learn and perform complex vocal music from a variety of genres, including Classical, World Folk, Musical Theater, and Contemporary/ Pop. The ensemble will have several performing opportunities- both at 142, and in the community. Singing experience is necessary (current participation in your own school chorus is strongly encouraged). Rehearsals will be weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:45 at 142 Throckmorton Theatre
Application Process
Participation is by audition only. Auditions for singers (9th-12th) will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14th between 4-6pm at 142 Throckmorton Theatre. Call 383-9613 to make an appointment. Auditions will take 30 minutes. Come prepared to sing a 1 minute song a cappella.

Instrumental Internship Program
The Instrumental Internship Program, under the leadership of Nora Thomas, is a merit scholarship program for teen instrumentalists showing exemplary skill on their instrument and leadership potential in music. Participants perform and rehearse in chamber music ensembles of varying size and instrumentation each week, depending on piece selection and needs of instrumental works. Internship musicians provide music for all Marin Youth Performers’ productions, playing orchestral parts for many well-known musicals, providing essential experience in the real world of musicianship.
Application Process
Musicians will apply for the program and will have a scheduled audition at 142 Throckmorton Theatre. Applicants will be selected based on musicianship and instrumentation. Call 415-383-9613 for more information or to schedule an audition.
